KUDOS - DPS Magnet Fair Attendance

Many thanks to the following who attended the DPS Magnet Fair today, Sunday, November 15th - faculty: Ginny Griffin, Blake Whitley and Karen Ingram; students: Salima Taylor, Lauren Watkins and Jewel Gray; parents: Jimmie Powell, David McMahon and Michael Cross- we had a large turnout and a lot of interest in CMA for 2010-11!

$14,000 Donation

Thursday, November 12,  2009,  over $14,000 from three major donors - Glaxo Smith Kline, Merck and Duke Health System donated monies via the Durham Chamber of Commerce to the DPS Scholarship Foundation.

Superintendent's Business Advisory Council Meeting

Congratulations to Fatimah Bori, Essence McClinton, Ryan Hampton and Catherine Beal – they were our student presenters at this morning’s Superintendent Business Advisory Council meeting hosted at CMA. Business leaders were impressed with CMA – our program, our students and our work – thank you all for making this happen. Recognition to Ms. Griffin, Ms. Terry, Mr. Reddish, Ms. DeBerry and Ms. Mathis – thanks for all your work to make the program happen.

H1N1 Vaccine Clinics in Middle/High Schools in November

During the month of November, Durham Public Schools, in conjunction with the Durham County Health Department (DCHD), plans to offer H1N1 flu vaccine at no cost to all secondary students during school hours for as long as the vaccine is available.  Please contact our school for additional information.
